Dealership spotlight: France Supercars. What is it like to sell luxury vehicles?
Everyone loves supercars. However, selling them is a peculiar business, requiring a vast amount of enthusiasm and technical expertise. Launched 2 years ago, France Supercars has quickly become a significant player in the market, with around 200 exceptional cars sold in 2024.
The company opened its first dealership in Rennes, followed by the second dealership in Lyon. Buyers of luxurious cars have a clear understanding about their needs and high expectations for the service, which raises the quality bar high.
In this Dealership spotlight, France Supercars agreed to share what it takes to be successful when selling cars that only a few can afford.

Customers are mostly interested in Porsche, Ferrari, and Lamborghini
There’s no such thing as a typical buyer of supercars. The only common thing they share is their passion for cars.
-Charles de Saint-Seine, Director of France Superscars
According to Charles de Saint-Seine, Director of France Superscars, Porsche, Ferrari, and Lamborghini are the most desired brands among customers. The overall attractiveness of these cars is also related to their history and the health of their distribution networks, ensuring smooth after-sales services.
While it may seem that supercars attract a certain kind of enthusiast, they can’t be placed in one box.
“There’s no such thing as a typical buyer of supercars. The only common thing they share is their passion for cars. Our customers come from all walks of life, and 99% have worked hard to afford such cars and achieve their childhood dream,” says Charles de Saint-Seine.
Electric supercars? Maybe someday
Supercar brands like Lamborghini and Ferrari have already announced plans to introduce electric models. While some die-hard fans of these Italian manufacturers express dislike for supercars without internal combustion engines, government regulations are getting stricter and manufacturers are forced to cut new car emissions dramatically. According to Charles de Saint-Seine, supercars are a different breed and, therefore, should be treated differently.
“Sports cars travel few kilometers annually, thus they emit much less CO2 than regular vehicles. They are also more sustainable than most cars, as they eventually become classic cars,” explains de Saint-Seine.
He compares electric cars to iPhones – there’s a good chance for both to end up in the trash because of rapidly changing technologies. At the moment, France Supercars have demand for hybrid models because of their tax advantages.
Ensures that cars have no hidden surprises
carVertical has long been one of the first steps in our vehicle inspection process – we don't waste time with cars that have complicated histories.
-Charles de Saint-Seine
Choosing top-notch supercars is not an easy task, requiring a lot of effort and expertise. France Supercars uses carVertical reports to mitigate the risk of getting cars with shady histories.
The dealership employs carVertical’s trust badge in their website’s listings and flags in the showroom. This reassures customers that professionals have used all the tools to inspect the vehicles, ensuring they don’t have any hidden defects.
“carVertical has long been one of the first steps in our vehicle inspection process – we don't waste time with cars that have complicated histories. If a car doesn’t have a convincing history, we won’t inspect it any further and instead focus on other vehicles we want to acquire or sell,” de Saint-Seine says.
Thanks to the company’s experience and vast network built up over the years, France Supercars does meticulous research on all their cars. It has also established contacts with vehicle manufacturers, ensuring that its clients know everything about the cars they’re purchasing.
