My carVertical report has a damage record whose value seems to be a lot larger (or smaller), considering the actual damage. Why is that?
If you are aware of an accident the vehicle has had, and you’re confused by the value of damages from that accident, this is most likely due to one of these reasons:
- Damage valuations are usually a reflection of what it would cost to repair the car in an official auto repair center. These centers typically use more expensive parts and charge more for work.
- Damage valuations are based on market prices. As a result, if the vehicle was damaged in a different country, the repair costs will reflect the prices in that country (which can be higher or lower, depending on your location).
